Children’s Wing Chun Classes

We base our Wing Chun classes on a traditional martial arts regimen. We hold our students to a high standard for achieving excellence in their Wing Chun training and personal development.

The Wing Chun martial arts system was designed with simplicity and directness in mind. It was conceived with the purpose of allowing a smaller person to overcome a physically larger opponent. In order to execute the simple and practical techniques in Wing Chun, we teach our students to maintain:

  • An upright poise and posture
  • Mental focus and clarity
  • Determination and persistence

Aside from martial arts skills, we emphasise the importance of respectful social interaction to our students with one another. To facilitate this, students abide by a traditional martial art family tree framework where they are taught to respect their teacher (sifu)*, their elders (si gong/si sook/si bak)*, and their generational peers (si hing, si dai, si jeh, si mui)*. This provides our students with the opportunity to learn from elders and peers, the responsibility to share and interact with others, and to challenge themselves in a safe and structured environment.
